Critical-Normalized transcription

- The line division follows that of the original.
- The spelling is almost always preserved. However:
a. Abbreviations are expanded and rendered in italics. Exceptions:
i. Voirs. (= voirscreven/voirseit)
j. Monetary values (for example lb., sc., d., etc.).

b. i-j and u-v-w are normalized to modern spelling.
c. Capitalization and punctuation are normalized according to modern spelling.
d. Word separations and compounds are normalized according to modern spelling.
e. Numbers written in Roman numerals are converted to Arabic numerals.

General Rules for the Critical-Normalized Transcription (not applicable in the paleo-app):

- For corrections (strikethroughs, insertions) in the text, the most recent version of the text is
printed, with an explanation in a footnote. This rule does not apply in the paleo-app.

- Marginal notes are presented in a footnote.
- If text is illegible, the missing letters or words are placed in [ ]. If text restoration is not
possible, ellipsis points [....] are used.
