Dossier № 3: A deer in the Haarlemmerhout

Nationaal Archief Den Haag, Archief Nassause Domeinraad II inv. nr. 1097

Modern Translation

Regest: ?

We William, count of Henegouwen, Holland and Zeeland, announce to everyone that we grant to our loyal knight lord Gijsbrecht van IJsselstein for now and in the future a deer annually from the Haarlemmerhout, at the time he wants it. He and his descendants, lords of IJsselstein, hold this right from us and our descendants in right fief. We order our woodsmen of the Haarlemmerhout, present and future, that they give this deer to the lord of IJsselstein without further prompting from us. This letter was confirmed with our seal. Given at Utrecht on the Friday after Saint Martin in the summer of the year 1314.
