Modern Translation

Regest: 6 cases of condemnations (sometimes with multiple culprits and victims) for injuries among the citizens of Ghent. Extracted from the court records of the Aldermen of the Ghedeele in the context of peace procedures for the year 1359-60.

Heinric Nachtegale should give X pounds Parisis to Zeghen vanden Boemgarde for his injuries and suffering. And with this

Heinric van Berghine should pay and compensate the master [surgeon] that cured Janne Rassen. And with that the aldermen recognize legal peace.

Jan de Bos, the son of Jan (from Saint Peter?) should give XX pounds Parisis to Willem Splenter for his injuries and suffering. And here etc.

Kerskijn, the son of Pieter Ost should give, or his father in his place, and pay the master [surgeon] that cured Berkijne Solomans. And with this the aldermen recognize legal peace.

Heinric vander Dome should compensate and pay the master [surgeon] that cured Heinric van Houthen. And with that they are in legal peace because this happened on the Vrijmarkt where he brought his pigs to the aldermen.

Jan van Ghend ende Gillis van Ghend should give LXVI pounds Parisis Janne Habeline for her injuries, mutilations and suffering. And in this context, the injuries of Jan and Gillis previously mentioned are null and void and appeased. And with this etc Jan Habelin recognizes them (free?) from all of his peacemaking sanctions, act of the aldermen the 16th of April.
