Modern Translation

Regest: June 1389. Payment for the completion of the tomb of Countess Margaret of Holland in the Hofkapel at The Hague.

Item at the Hague paid to Kelderman of Brussels for the making of the tomb at the Hague of my lady who is God gracious, paid therefrom because he made more of it than Wauter van Galmaden, who first tendered [and started] it, 57 lb. 11 s. 1 d. g. light money, by adding as much as 35 guilders which he had consumed with his servants in the inn at The Hague because he was not allowed to eat his meals for a time at my lord's court. However, this had been promised to him in Brussels in the presence of Godevaert Roelantszoon, and a contract had been made of it. Makes in good money 46 lb. 10.5 d. g.


Item Jacob van Minneken who painted and gilded my lady's tomb paid for his labour, gold and the other that belonged to it 25 lb. 6 s. 4 d. g. light money, makes in good money 20 lb. 5 s. 1 d. g.
